Hello everyone! On Friday, September 8th PeTA protested “An Elegant Affair Opera Ball 2006″ in San Francisco. Why you may ask? Well Burberry clothing was a gift sponsor. Burberry may be best known for its distinctive plaid, but its use of real fur is making the design house synonymous with cruelty to animals. Burberry continues to design with fur despite the fact that leading clothing retailers like J. Crew, Ann Taylor, Ralph Lauren, and others have pulled fur from their stores forever. Animals raised on fur farms are kept in small, filthy cages and exposed to all weather extremes before being killed by gassing, neck-breaking, or genital electrocution. Learn more about what?s wrong with fur at www.FurIsDead.com, or if you watch this you may get a good idea.

***It’s a little graphic!

This is mostly for all the actor who have yet to see this film all together. I’m still not happy with it but my friend needs it for her editing class (maybe) and she requested that I blog it. This shouldn’t be up too long either but enjoy it while it’s up. I just wish I could do something about that damn frame blending! It’s cause my FCP settings got jacked up!!!

Happy blogging :)

For my teacher!

Hello!
This post is mainly for my Editing 2 teacher at the “fabulous” Academy of Art University here in San Francisco. See the Academy came up with this new policy that you can only cut, and I quote, “Content Appropriate for the Venue (PG-13) - We all come from different backgrounds. We need to respect our classmates and be sensitive to issues of gender, race, sexuality, politics, religion, etc. What one group may find appropriate to view, another may not. We need to remember this when creating content to show in public classroom. For this reason, this classroom is not the place to show porn, graphically disgusting visuals, extreme violence or any form of racism. If you have a question with this policy, please see the university catalog’s section on academic freedom.
For a definition of obscenity as defined by the US Supreme Court in 1973 please visit: http://www.lectlaw.com/def2/o002.htm

Yes you read that right PG-13! This was taken from the “course handbook” for this class. Let me just remind everyone the average student in this class is no younger then 18. Also I shot and edited this film my second year at the school (and received an A on it when I cut it on a flatbed) but now I must show it to my teacher before I even think about using it in an editing project at the university.

I’m counting down the weeks until I can leave that place! Enjoy the film while it’s up. It was a blast to shoot but I don’t own the rights to the song so I can’t leave it up too long without getting sued. And it’s also Academy property.

PS – I think I’m starting to like this whole blogging thing! :)
